This Research Note examines the divestment of BuildingMinds, by Schindler Group, the Swiss-headquartered global provider of elevators, escalators, and related services, to Lookthrough. We highlight the new ownership and strategic rationale of the transaction before assessing the latest company accounts of BuildingMinds GmbH and providing our view of the deal. Transaction Details Lookthrough, the Swiss-based real estate decision intelligence platform, and BuildingMinds, the Berlin-based AI data platform for real estate portfolio management, announced on 20th August 2026 that they were joining forces to create an AI platform for institutional real estate. Essentially, this transaction is a divestment of BuildingMinds by Schindler. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
