This Research Note examines the recent acquisition of German video surveillance manufacturer Mobotix AG by private equity firm Certina Group, which has taken over the 65% stake in the company from the Japanese Konica Minolta Group. This article updates our previous coverage of the repositioning strategy of Mobotix in 2022 and 2024. Transaction Details On the 26th March 2025, Certina Group announced the acquisition of a 65% stake in the publicly listed Mobotix AG from Konica Minolta Group. The purchase price has not been disclosed. Closing is expected to occur in May 2025 and will be subject to mandatory antitrust clearance.
