In this Research Note, we examine iLobby, a Canadian startup offering a visitor management platform for high-security enterprises and complex work environments.

Founded in 2013 and based in North York, Ontario, iLobby offers a SaaS-based facility and visitor management platform which helps enterprise companies track, manage and monitor visitors, contractors, employees, and others in their facilities, replacing more traditional pen-and-paper log methods.

iLobby’s FacilityOS platform offers a set of software modules which reflect the focus of their clients in manufacturing, transportation & logistics, aerospace & defence, construction sectors and other high-security environments.

Deployed across more than 6,000 sites worldwide, iLobby supports complex work environments by optimizing and automating key facility processes to achieve regulatory compliance, enforce safety protocols, and drive site security requirements.

Clients include institutions and companies such as Canada Post, DHL, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Scotiabank, Manulife, Pepsi, Netflix, CBC, Unilever, LG and PCL Construction. The Toronto-based company now operates in over 45+ countries and the platform has been translated into 30+ languages. The company reports 86 employees on LinkedIn.

iLobby’s FacilityOS platform streamlines the management of visitors, contractors, temp workers, and deliveries with various modules, the most recent of which is SecurityOS, a Physical Identity and Access Management (PIAM) solution which offers a secure and streamlined process for issuing, tracking, and managing visitor identities and temporary physical access.

Other modules include:

  • VisitorOS: Built specifically for enterprises with mission-critical facilities and infrastructure, VisitorOS improves workplace safety, security and compliance through automation and people-powered support.
  • WorkforceOS for planning, coordinating and controlling office visits in a flexible workplace.
  • EmergencyOS improves the efficiency and speed of evacuations and ensures all visitors are accounted for in the event of an emergency.
  • DeliveryOS tracks and manages all the mail in an organization, offering a complete system to process all deliveries at the reception, mail room, or receiving dock.

iLobby Investment

In January 2021, the company received more than $100 million in investment from global venture capital and private equity firm, Insight Partners, marking iLobby’s first-ever round of funding. The company announced its intention to use these funds to scale its go-to-market operations and expand its product functionality.

This visitor management platform has been able to attract the enterprise segment, an under-served market where regulations and corporate policies can prevent some competitors from offering a feasible alternative.

One of Canada’s fastest growing technology companies, with 437% revenue growth from 2018 to 2021, and an estimated revenue in the range of $10 - $15 million, the iLobby platform has differentiated itself by its focus on complex work and high-security environments.
