This Research Note reviews the 3rd December 2025 investment by CapitalG, the Alphabet (Google) venture capital arm, in Verkada, a startup provider of video security systems for businesses and schools. We comment on the progress of the firm, highlighting its plug-and-play cloud-native model, and provide our view on its development to date, including its funding levels. CapitalG Investment Alphabet’s independent growth fund, CapitalG, is leading an investment that values Verkada at $5.8 billion, a $1.3 billion increase from their Series E earlier this year.
